LONDON: A film on recession which has hit us all? Yes, this one is a new twist on the age-old war between love and wealth. This Delhi love story, written and directed by Habib Tanvir, is woven in the backdrop of recession and the ways in which it tests love.
Ayushman of Vicky Donor-fame plays Mohit Chadhdha seducing Mayera Sehgal, played by Sonam Kapoor.
While they may believe that love is all you need to live, Mayera’s father V.K. Sehgal (played by veteran actor Rishi Kapoor) thinks otherwise. What ensues is a tug-of-war between a safe-playing father and credit-card addicted lovebirds.
The film, which is a YRF production, has been described as a slice-of-life satire. Nupur Asthana, director of Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge, will be directing the movie.
Both Ayushman and Sonam would be working for the first time for the YRF banner with this film.
Shooting for the film will begin in February and it is due for a 2013 release.
