BRAMPTON: Thousands of people enjoyed Ramlila on the occasion of Dushera at the Hindu Sabha Temple on Gore Road here.
Courtesy of Ajay Modi Entertainment, the live performance of Ramlila by Indian Revival Group turned out to be a spectacular event as an estimated 25,000 people poured in to watch it.
For a while, the Hindu Sabha Temple premises looked like a sea of humanity as people from all communities came in to witness the spectacle of ballet performed by Indian Revival Group. The Ramlila coincided with Thanksgiving Day.
The over two-hour-long Ramlila narrated the story of Lord Rama from his birth to marriage (Sita Swamvyar) to his 14-year banishment (vanavas) to abduction of his wife Sita by demon king Ravana to Lord Rama’s victory over Ravana.
A spectacular work of fireworks in the background marked the finale of the Ramlila performance.
Later, the Hindu Sabha Temple organized the burning of the effigies of Kumbhkaran, Meghnath and Ravana followed by spectacular fireworks.
Brampton Mayor Susan Fennell, federal sports minister Bal Gosal, MPP Vic Dhillon, other prominent people and community leaders were among the huge gathering to watch the glittering performance and wish Happy Dushera and Diwali to the community.
The Brampton Mayor also released a special Diwali potage stamp by Ajaay Modi Entertainment at the event. The postage stamp can be used as a regular postage stamp for sending a regular mail anywhere in Canada and another version for sending an international mail.
Ajaay Modi of Ajaay Modi Entertainment Modi thanked the Hindu Sabha Temple committee and president and the community for making Ramlila a success.
